West Hawaii ReStoreHabitat for Humanity’s ReStores’ are retail outlets that sell new and used building materials, tools, furniture, household, hardware, any other home improvement items at discounted prices. By purchasing gently used materials, you will help with to cut these types of materials from being put in the landfill or being burned for electricity, all while saving money on your home remodeling project! What Will You Build? West Hawaii HabitatYour donation brings us closer to our goal of ending sub-standard housing in Hawai‘i.  You can also donate your professional services, products or cash; give construction and/or home improvement materials, or contribute through the Combined Federal Campaign, the world’s largest and most successful annual workplace charity campaign.

 


Sponsor a Legacy Tree

Give the gift of a living legacy by sponsoring a Koa Legacy Tree that supports building homes for local families.  For a $60 contribution, you receive a beautiful, engraved certificate and Hawai‘i Habitat will receive $20 in support of its mission to build affordable, decent homes for local families. Additionally, $1 is donated to The Nature Conservancy in Hawai‘i.

 


Sponsor Our Annual Build-a-Thon

Honolulu Build-a-thonOur annual Build-a-Thon is a statewide event that generates awareness and support for Hawai‘i Habitat for Humanity and its’ affiliates. Community members like you, build homes, refurbish houses in need of repair, and raise awareness that affordable housing is a matter of conscience and action. Proceeds from these events help to support our local Habitat affiliates and our statewide efforts to offer successful homeownership to low-income families in Hawai‘i.

 


Volunteer with Your Local Affiliate

Volunteer opportunities are available for people, corporate groups, faith groups, student, and youth groups, AmeriCorps members, and other civic organizations. Since most Hawaii Habitat volunteers are recruited and coordinated by our local affiliates, the best was to get involved is to contact your nearest affiliate to learn more. While the needs of each of our affiliate offices vary, you can find some examples along with contact information for your affiliate here.

 


Advocate

Hawaii Habitat for Humanity advocates for policy choices that increase access to affordable housing. Why is safe and affordable housing important? It allows families to provide stability for their children; fosters personal dignity; improves mental and physical health, physical safety, and security; and increases educational and employment prospects.
